Adolescent Intensive Crisis Respite
CYFS provides Adolescent
Crisis Respite on a 24/7 basis as a service component of the residential treatment
system. The Mid-Valley Behavioral Care Network, Oregon State Department for
Services to Children and Families, Oregon Youth Authority, Oregon Mental Health
and Developmental Disabilities Service Division and The Yamhill County Department
of Mental Health utilize this service to avoid hospitalization, as an interim
placement pending other treatment arrangements, and as a "step-down" unit while
transitioning back into the home.
Parenting Education
CYFS provides interactive
seminars for parents, which include, effective parenting, managing stress/anger,
managing aggressive children and a seminar on developing a child's conscience.
Northwest Passage
This program includes short-term
outdoor camping experiences for youth. This program is designed to develop problem
solving skills, self-esteem building, communication ability, and trust building
exercises. Children in this program experience the outdoors in a beautiful setting
in the Oregon Wilderness.
Services for Families
Some of these services include
supervised visitation for children, intensive family services to help build
on family strengths and family decision meetings where mental health professionals
work to bring family members together in a positive environment to problem solve.
