Chehalem Youth and Family
Services operate a twenty-four hour a day, seven days per week residential treatment
program. The children in Residential Treatment are provided with a safe, healthy
and nurturing environment that is conducive to their growth and development.
A very important part of
this environment is a treatment program that provides behavioral support, life
skills and professional mental health services. Due to the considerable needs
of each child in the program, the staff to child ratio is 3:1. This allows staff
the opportunity to work with each child individually and develop relationships
built on trust and mutual respect.
CYFS currently operates
four homes for youth. They are, Brandon House, Brandon House II, Chehalem House
and Chehalem Cottage. Each home is comfortable, accommodating and appealing.
The children learn to love their homes and many spend holiday's such as Christmas
here with staff members who volunteer their time to be with them. The homes
literally become their family unit for the duration of a child's stay.
