We believe children and families thrive where self-determination, unconditional love, acceptance, affirmation of strengths and accountability provide respect, dignity and hope. We affirm the value of diversity and individual differences which enrich life. It is our mission to encourage and empower youth and their families to grow mentally, emotionally, spiritually and to reach their highest potential through training, counseling and treatment. CYFS' First Annual Art Show!

Chehalem Youth & Family Services (CYFS) is proud to present the first annual Ignite the Light Youth Art Exhibition on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 5pm-7pm at the Chehalem Cultural Center! The art show is dedicated to showcasing the artistic talent and self-expression of 15 amazing youth connected with CYFS. The art pieces were originally shown in the Cultural Center Ballroom November 18th, 2014 at the Ignite the Light Benefit luncheon held annually to support the CYFS mission to encourage and empower youth and their families to grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually and to reach their highest potential through training, counseling and treatment.

The purpose of this exhibition is to give these youth an opportunity to display their creative work and experience the process of participating in an exhibition. It encourages an appreciation for the arts and demonstrates the depth of talent that exists in these young people.

Chehalem Counseling Center now accepting OHP!

Chehalem Counseling Center, a program of Chehalem Youth and Family Services, is proud to announce that we are accepting Oregon Health Plan. In the month of July CCC underwent an audit and passed with flying colors and was granted a contract from the YCCO to provide individual, couples, and family therapy and medication management to OHP participants.

CCC is staffed with 4 licensed psychologist and 6 QMHPs to provide ongoing therapy and a nurse practitioner to address medication management. Please call our main office at 503-538-4874 to set up an appointment today!

CYFS, a Smoke-Free Workplace

CYFS is dedicated to having a smoke-free workplace because we care about the health of our employees and the youth we serve. Statistically, most smokers want to quit. If you or someone you know are interested in getting help to quit smoking, the Oregon Tobacco Quit Line is a great place to start. Those who receive effective treatment are 2-3 times more likely to quit - and that is a huge difference!

It is FREE!!!!! Call today to get on the path towards a healthier, happier life.

There are many other resources, found on our "Community Resources" page under "Get Help to Stop Smoking"

Become a Mentor Today!

Are you ready for a rewarding experience? Would you like to be a powerful ally for a young person?

Mentoring is an effective way to harness the power of positive role models to maximize a youth’s potential. Not only do mentors provide opportunities to thrive, they help youth feel supported and valued by influencing them to build the “good stuff” in their life, and resist the “bad stuff”.

If you would like to join us in promoting positive behaviors and attitudes for youth, please contact the Mentoring Connection program at 503-537-8062.
